The Paris Apartment

Trouble keeps finding Jess. She’s just left her job under less than ideal circumstances and needs to escape for a bit. Her half-brother Ben didn’t sound thrilled when she asked if she could crash with him for a bit, but he didn’t say no, so she buys a one-way ticket and crosses the Channel. When she shows up at the appointed time at no 12 Rue des Amants, deep in the backstreets of Montmartre, she finds a very fancy apartment (can he really afford this?) but Ben’s not there.

The longer Ben stays missing, the more Jess starts to dig into her brother’s situation, and the more questions she has. Ben’s neighbours are an eclectic bunch, and not particularly friendly. Jess may have come to Paris to escape her past, but it’s starting to look like it’s Ben’s future that’s in question.

You’ll find all the usual suspects: a watchful concierge, a scorned lover, a naïve student, a prying journalist, a high-society wife, an unwanted guest….Everyone’s a suspect. And everyone knows something they’re not telling.  Its fabulously chilling, page-turning and sleep-stealing!  I’m pretty sure it will keep you reading into the wee hours at it did me!
