Great Big Beautiful Life

by Emily Henry

Published by Penguin

Are you in the mood for a romance that’s engaging, funny and wholly satisfying?  Emily Henry is the queen of rom-com fiction and her latest book, Great Big Beautiful Life, is perfect escapism as we head into winter.

Selected as one of Reece Witherspoon’s Book of the Month titles, Great Big Beautiful Life features two writers who’ve been invited to Little Crescent Island by a famously reclusive heiress, Margaret Ives.  Now in her eighties, Margaret has decided to allow her scandalous life story to be told and is choosing between Alice, an eager young journalist who specialises in celebrity stories and Hayden, a “serious” (read: grumpy) Pulitzer Prize-winning writer, as to who she’ll entrust with her story.

A trial period has been set up for the two writers independently to get to know Margaret and to come up with their own proposals for a book.  Each is bound by an ironclad NDA prohibiting them from discussing any details with anyone, least of all each other, which would be fine, if they weren’t so utterly, irrefutably, and inappropriately attracted to one another…

The banter is clever, the characters are charming and the dialogue whips along as you rush to discover the real truth behind the Ives family story and who is going to tell it.  Such fun!
